Typically you dont get a revoked license from just one complaint. There are some customers that cannot be satisfied, or set out to defraud the contractor, from the beginning… boards do keep this in mind, and it takes many complaints, with verifiable evidence to get a license revoked.

The fact that this contractor has had TWO licenses revoked is a VERY bad indicator.

IF you know this contractor personally, and want to use them, stay on top of what this contractor is doing. Verify the quality of the work/materials, and DONT pay them in full up front. Its normal to pay up to half of the estimate up front, but in this case, seriously consider paying only 1/4 to 1/3 up front to minimize your loss, should something go wrong.

IF you DONT know them personally, I’d strongly suggest you find another contractor.

A contractor who loses their license for nonpayment of fees or something get an ‘inactive’ status. A ‘revoked’ status means that they really screwed something up or really screwed somebody - usually a financial dispute like nonperformance of services or shoddy workmanship.

One revoked license? I’d proceed with caution.

Two revoked licenses? Get as far away from them as you can. They are bad news.
